Hæc dies, quam fecit Dominus: exultemus, et laetemur in ea.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

V. Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus: quoniam in saeculum misericordia ejus.

V. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever.

Et valde mane una Sabbatorum veniunt ad monumentum orto iam sole.

And very early in the morning on the first day after the Sabbath.

Donum Dei altissimi

Praise we the Father and the Son
And Holy Spirit, with them One;

Loquebantur variis linguis apostoli magnalia Dei: Alleluia.

The apostles spoke in tongues of the greatness of God: Alleluia.

Repleti sunt omnes Spiritu Sancto, et coeperunt loqui: Alleluia.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak: Alleluia.

When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint Jesus. Alleluia.

The tomb the Living did enclose;

Mark 16: 1-2, 5-6

Maria Magdalene etaltera Maria emerunt aromata ut venientes ungerent Iesum. Et valde mane una Sabbatorum veniunt ad monumentum orto iam sole. Alleluia.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary brought spices so that they might anoint Jesus's body. And very early on the Sabbath, they came to the tomb, just after sunrise. Alleluia.

Et introeuntes in monumentum viderunt iuvenem sedentem in dextris coopertum stola candida et obstupuerunt. Qui dicit illis: “Iesum quem queritis Nazarenum cruxifixum: surrexit, non est hic. Ecce locus ubi posuerunt eum.”. Alleluia.

Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side dressed in a white robe, and they were amazed. He said to them: "You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he has risen, he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.". Alleluia.
